There is a lot of laughter in my lessons; above all, singing is also about having fun—that's why we do it, right?

When a new student signs up, I always ask: Why do you sing? Why do you want singing lessons? And what do you expect from them?

Of course, everyone who takes lessons wants to learn to sing better and with more ease, but what that means and the path to achieving it is different for each student.

It also depends on the student’s ambitions regarding singing and the specific challenges he or she has encountered.

I primarily teach singing lessons (private or duo) to both beginners and advanced students in
all genres, not just classical music. My starting point is always: What can the student already do, and what are their wishes for improvement?

Technical exercises, which may relate to aspects such as sound production, vowel formation, diction, breath awareness and its connection to the body, and posture, are always based on the chosen repertoire.

I strive to integrate technique, expression, and emotion rather than treating them separately. In this way, the student and I work together towards improvement, while I also strongly encourage the student’s own initiative—after all, they have to be able to do it themselves.

I make an effort to stay up to date with new knowledge and methods in vocal training, including those beyond classical singing. That is why I have studied methods such as Lichtenberger, CVT, and Universal Voice. Since the body is our instrument—the carrier of the singing voice—I also incorporate my knowledge of posture and body awareness into my lessons, drawing from Mensendieck, Pilates, and Tai Chi.

Additionally, my studies in haptonomy help me understand how everything we perceive leaves mental and emotional imprints on our body, and thus on our voice. There is a saying: It is not the eyes that are the mirror of our soul, but the larynx.

In my view, learning to sing well is about integrating all these aspects: vocal technique, expression, body awareness, and emotion.
